  Be in Costume: All participants must be dressed in cosplay to take part.
  Open to All: Cosplayers of all ages and experience levels are welcome.
  Any Costume Type: Handmade, store-bought, or commissioned costumes are all accepted.
  Have Fun: The Masquerade is all about celebrating creativity – so relax and enjoy yourself!

• How to Join

• What to Expect:

  • Showcase your monstrous creation during the Masquerade Parade on the Main Stage. 

  • After the parade, finalists will be introduced to the audience. 

  • The final will be later in the day to give the judges time to make their decisions.

  • Apply Online: Submit the entry form below before March 12, 2025, to register for this prestigious category.

  • Eligibility

    • Handmade Requirement:

    • Costumes must be at least 70% handmade by the entrant. This includes sewing, sculpting, painting, or any other form of costume creation.

    • Store-bought or commissioned items may account for up to 30% of the costume.

  • Age Requirement:

    • Open to participants aged 16 and over.

  • Pre-Registration:

    • All entrants must apply online by March 12, 2025.

• Spaces are limited and you will find out if you are successful to go through to the event judging by April 2nd.

  • Costume Guidelines

    • Original or Recreated Designs:

    • Costumes may be based on existing characters from films, games, TV shows, or original designs.

    • If the costume is inspired by an existing character, visual references must be submitted with the entry form.

  • Safety:

    • Costumes must allow for safe movement on stage and within the event space.

    • Props must comply with event safety regulations (no real weapons, sharp edges, or pyrotechnics).

  • Mobility:

    • Large or bulky costumes must be disclosed during registration to accommodate stage requirements.

  • Appropriateness:

    • Costumes must adhere to venue rules and local laws regarding public decency.

  • Judging Criteria

    • Craftsmanship:

    • Attention to detail, materials used, techniques, and overall construction quality.

    • Creativity:

    • Innovation and originality in design and execution.

    • Character Embodiment:

    • How well the costume represents the character or concept.

  • On the Day

    • Check-In:

    • All contestants must check in at their allocated time on April 12 for a professional photoshoot and costume evaluation. (Timing tbc)

  • Grand Finale:

    • Selected finalists will be invited to participate in the live Grand Finale on the Main Stage

    • Stage Time:

    • Finalists must be able to appear on stage for the Masquerade Parade and Grand Finale presentation.

  • Disqualification

    • Failure to adhere to these rules, including inaccurate representation of costume creation, may result in disqualification.
